Helping Communities Work incorporates Reciprocal Entrepreneurship (RE), a discipline designed for entrepreneurs who may not ordinarily communicate yet have common social, economic and environmental goals and objectives. RE creates collaborative environments, which break down cross-sector barriers in order to align and advance the vision, innovation and bold action of entrepreneurs and innovators across all industries and sectors, including the nonprofit and arts and culture communities.
Reciprocal Entrepreneurship, 1) identifies diverse and large-scale societal problems, 2) uncovers and creates relevant community assets and resources, 3) aligns the vision, imagination, innovation and action of cross-sector entrepreneurs, 4) develops innovative solutions, 5) objectively reports on the process and, 6) utilizes multimedia strategies to engage local, national and global audiences.
Reciprocal Entrepreneurship can be tailored for boundless applications and is guided by "Academic Entrepreneurship for Medical and Health Scientists" an open educational resource self-published by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania ITMAT and licensed under a Creative Commons License.
