Helping Communities Work (HCW) recognizes that national service initiatives can perpetuate the philosophy of Bill Siemering, the first Director of Programming for National Public Radio. Bill wrote, "NPR doesn't regard its audience as a market, but as curious, complex individuals who are looking for some understanding, meaning and joy in the human experience. It's all about connecting."
HCW employs "Reciprocal Entrepreneurship", which incorporates the collective perseverance, imagination, vision and action of business and social entrepreneurs across all generations. We strive to help promote, align and achieve the goals and objectives of AmeriCorps, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the National Opportunity Zone Initiative, the Principles for Responsible Banking, the Principles for Responsible Investment, Encore Fellowships, AARP Livable Communities, the SDG ICT Playbook and others to be determined over time.
